How do i find out if my landlord is in default on her loan?
I've been renting for almost two years. The HOA president says my landlord has told her that I'm the perfect tenant, so I was shocked when I arrived from work today and found a sixty-day notice of termination of lease on my gate. I'm wondering if the landlord is in default on her loan or wants to sell or shortsale the place but have no direct contact with her, and the property management company didn't give a reason. Is there any way I can find out if she is in default on her loan? Also, is there any way of finding out who the mortgage company is? I could contact them about a short sale or something before I'd have to move. I don't want to move. I just got here. It's really expensive and a big hassle changing everything. Ugh! Any ideas? Suggestions? Advice?
