My HOA, county police and county attorney had it within their means to help me with a serious problem....?

that I have been having with a neighbor for about the last three years and did nothing. Now they want my help. I feel like they have a lot of nerve asking me for assistance. My husband is also very angry about this. Should I help them or tell them to take a flying leap like I really want to???
